The 1920's was a truly exciting decade in American history -- today we might say it 'rocked;' back then, it 'roared.' In all aspects of life, fashion, music, literature, sports, economics, social reform, politics, things were happening, and happening fast....
Yes, things were changing all around the States and especially in Hoxton Town, where the story takes place. This town was set up back in 1882 by a man named Robert Hoxton and his beloved wife, Jaden. It didn't take long for people to settle here and for business to start running high. The highest source of income had to be the Silver Dome Mines, ran by Hoxton himself.
After the Hoxtons' deaths, the city was left without a mayor. Soon people elected a new one and things continued as they always were. Hoxton Town hit their only period of hard times during World War I. With the conscription assigned, many of the young men were shipped off to war and it left many of the woman alone here. The business dropped very low and many women were forced into the Silver Dome Mines and other small shops are town.
Now the war is over and most of the men have come back. Hoxton town is seeing the light once again and it's business is picking up again. The women have taken a more important role in the town's economy and are deffinatly more respected then they were before. It all seems to be going for the better.. Although things might change.. New commers are settleing, the young ones are leaving, others are doing things they shouldn't ought to be doing.. What will happen next is up to you.
Let yourself fallback into the time period best known as 'The Roaring Twenties'. Let go of today's worries and live a life of freedom. Welcome to Hoxton Town.
